I didn’t expect to find such nature at Copenhagen’s Lyngby area north of the centre. It is a peaceful place with parks and lakes (Lyngby lake, Bagsvaerd lake and this one above here, plus many smaller ones). Being in a flat green country, sometimes you forget how a forest looks like and this is why I enjoyed this area, kind of reminded me of a “light jungle” or a wild forest. People were enjoying their picnics, walks and some were also canoeing in the lakes.
For those of you looking for quiet escapes, this could be an excellent idea.
Take train B to Holte and get of at Jægersborg st. Take Lokal bane to Nærum and get off at Fuglevad st. In front of you, you will see those 2 images below and if you wander a bit in the park-forest, you will end up at Lyngby lake above. From there you can get train from Lyngby st back to the centre.
