Here is my weekend dessert: Greek mosaic (μωσαϊκό) or kormos meaning tree trunk (κορμός) or chocolate salami (σαλάμι σοκολάτας).
There are tons of variations and recipes so I will suggest looking it up based on your preferences rather than me proposing one.
Mine is the simple version with dark chocolate, butter, caster sugar, cocoa, vanilla biscuits and cognac. I have also tried it with raisins, orange, walnuts and much more in different trials and they were all lovely.
As I have stated many times, weekends or afternoons after work should be free and relaxing. I have many times posted about Granola (I hope at some point they will offer me something for free there 😀 ) and this time I tried to differ.
Of course I ordered my beloved Rødgrød, mix of berries, strawberries, ice cream vanilla, roasted hazelnuts and perhaps rhubarb. But despite the waitress’s surprised look, I ordered a second dish, the traditional Danish koldskål. I also got a lot of weird looks but that’s another story 😀
Koldskål was basically a soup of buttermilk with a hint of strawberries and biscuits floating in the middle. I can understand that it is a Danish favourite but I will rather stay faithful at my beloved Rødgrød.
