Looking for the sun

Beach close to Alexandroupoli, 20 min walk from the centre, clear water and quiet, especially in the morning, I just love to hang out in this beach in the mornings every summer!

Just some perspective… Taking pictures with my mind to hold on for a year 🙂

Taking a walk next to the beach and letting the waves splash in your feet, extraordinarily calming

Crystal clear sea with view of Samothraki, a small island 3 hours by ship, which is mostly preferred by campers due its special nature.

Same view but different colours, I believe the lens made a difference!

Taking a nap here is way better than my bed

Of course and without further questions I introduce you to the famous Greek frappe coffee, which here is probably shown in its worst version, but still a delight! Very refreshing for the beach and great for morning. Alternatively, I would go for the Greek brewed coffee that you can see in another post last year.

As I was leaving, I tried and failed miserably to take a good picture from the plane window, but I hope you can still get this warm feeling that I get everytime I fly over the Aegean Sea. The sun is always reflected on the sea, the sea is always calm and smooth and you just feel this ‘hygge’ I would say in Danish but in english it would be ‘warm/happy feeling.

Goodbye Greece!

Staring over the Aegean Sea –> Idea: Photography

Staring over the Aegean Sea standing next to a small church. On the edge of a cliff in Greece.

On a quick shooting with my brother, trying to capture the simplicity but beauty of the landscape. This is taken on the edge of a cliff right next to the Aegean sea. These small churches appear very often in Greece (usually in places where car accidents happened, but not only).

Summer in Greece_to be continued –> Idea: Travelling

Summer in Greece

I hope everyone is enjoying summer with lots of sun or snow depending where you are 🙂

Currently in Greece, I am definitely soaking up sun and relaxation by the beach.

Either you have a coffee-beverage by the beach or at the numerous local cafes, try to observe how Greeks take a moment to enjoy their coffee and copy this approach. It is one thing they have mastered, despite the recent crisis and misery that followed. It is good to see them smiling for a while 🙂 And the thing to keep in mind out of this is actually how to obtain a good perspective in your life in a really bad period.

Enjoying coffee in Greece: you can see 3 freddo espressos (cold espresso based coffee) and a warm cappuccino. Cookies and desserts along with water are usually offered free of charge in most cafes. The bad thing is that smoking is allowed everywhere.

Windsurfing in Greece: if you love sports, find an organized beach bar that offers sports activities plus extra stuff, like water banana, windsurfing, canoe, kayak, parachute etc.

I hope you enjoy the pics! Enjoy the summer as much as I do!

In the next posts, I will be presenting holiday in Corfu, a Greek island in the Ionian sea between Italy and Greece!
